The Race for District 3

Hello to one and all, and Welcome!

This past weekend was full of events from Gretna to Bellevue. I was able to take in two great firework shows, eat BBQ for most meals, participate in the Gretna Parade, and more importantly meet many wonderful people in district 3. I look forward to meeting and speaking with as many of you as I can as the the campaign rolls on to the General Election November 4th.

My Platform

As your representative in the State Legislature I will bring my proven work ethic, and common sense to Lincoln. I am willing to listen, and to work to understand the issues at hand.

I believe the strength of our state is in its people. I believe that good government should guarantee to its individuals equality before the law

I believe that government should promote the health, welfare, and safety of the individual and that government’s proper function is to do only those things which individuals cannot do for themselves.

My parents, teachers, and coaches instilled the desire to work hard and take pride in a job well done. 20 years service in the United States Air Force further solidified the importance of dedication and devotion to something larger than myself.

I am a conservative and believe in the importance of individual rights and of limited government.

With these principles, I believe I am the candidate for people who desire a positive and responsive government at the state level.

On the Trail

10 Sep

Looks as if Fall wants to move in! The cooler weather is a welcomed change of pace. I will take advantage and walk the district even farther more this evening. I have determined it takes 90 minutes to visit 50 homes when it is 90 degrees. I will keep a log and see if the cooler weather will make it easier to do more or not. The National Weather Service is saying Wed is when we will have our warmest day at 77. Hmmmmm might have to do some yard work this week too.

Campaign

10 Sept

The month has started off with a bang. I wanted to give a brief update on what has been going on to date.

I have been out walking the district as you know and I have to say I am very happy with the responses I have received. The most common thing so far is " We don't want to buy anything...." However, when I tell them I am just introducing myself as a candidate to represent them in the district they are more than receptive.

I thought I would share some of the more interesting, to me of course, things that have happened along the trail. Perhaps it will provide you a moment of levity.

I was walking off of one porch and being as tall as I am I am wary of the light fixtures and such. So as I navigated my way off of one particularly low ceiling porch I ran in to a huge spider web. Let me tell you it was all I could do to keep my composure and not flail about. There is very little that is more disturbing than to have a huge spider, okay about the size of a dime, running along it's web while the web is wrapping around your face and head. Oh and seeing as i have no hair it was all the more interesting!!! So I have a new rule:

Look for spider webs on the way to the door!
