Weekly Update
These have been exciting times these past months and today as I look back on the campaign I would like to take a moment to say thank you to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring us to this point. I am especially thankful to my wonderful family who have stood with me. I will never be able to say thank you enough.
Senator Kopplin proved to be more than a capable opponent and I appreciate the way he ran his campaign. I believe we all owe him our gratitude for his years of public service, dedication to the people of the 3rd district, and to the state.
To all the voters of district 3 I would like to say thank you for your kindness, encouragement, and support. I look forward to taking your thoughts and concerns to the legislature.
Now it is time to take a moment to catch our breath and prepare for what is coming. Again I appreciate all the support and inputs from all those involved, and from you the voters.
I am honored to be your next State Senator for the 3rd district.
Thank You

My Platform
As your representative in the State Legislature I will bring my proven work ethic, and common sense to Lincoln. I am willing to listen, and to work to understand the issues at hand.
I believe the strength of our state is in its people. I believe that good government should guarantee to its individuals equality before the law
I believe that government should promote the health, welfare, and safety of the individual and that government’s proper function is to do only those things which individuals cannot do for themselves.
My parents, teachers, and coaches instilled the desire to work hard and take pride in a job well done. 20 years service in the United States Air Force further solidified the importance of dedication and devotion to something larger than myself.
I am a conservative and believe in the importance of individual rights and of limited government.
With these principles, I believe I am the candidate for people who desire a positive and responsive government at the state level.

Veteran's
This past week I was asked by the Johanns Campaign to contact a diverse group of veterans and set up a Veterans Round table with Sen Thune and Sec. Johanns. I worked with Emily Brummund and Bellevue Chamber of Commerce President Megan Lucas to identify individuals to invite, and secure the time and location. Mrs. Lucas was able to work with Bellevue University to provide an ideal location in the Student Center's, Quiet room. To ensure the best results in the short time provided I turned to Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (Ret) James McCoy, Gretna Mayor Tim Gilligan, a Vietnam veteran, and the local Military Officers Association President Pat Jones. Together we were able to build a coalition of veterans who represented the Active Duty, Guard & Reserve, retired, and those in transition from service. These 22+ individuals collectively possessed over 500 years of military experience. After a brief round of introductions and opening comments from both Sec. Johanns and Sen. Thune we shared concerns in areas of: Strategic Posture, aging weapon systems, Cyber Security, and VA issues. Both Sec Johanns and Sen. Thune were receptive to what was said and offered their thoughts and concerns on these matters.
Campaigning
What a great start to the weekend. We will be out today delivering signs, and even have a few McCain Palin ones left if you need one.

Mailers vs Reality.....
By now many of you have received mailers from my competitor dealing with a range of topics from taxes to illegal immigration. I want to let you know more on his stances, and his REAL vote on these important issues, so over the next days I will post excerpts from the Legislative Journal. Stay tuned.....
